U.S. soldier Staff Sergeant Robert Bales was charged with 17 as the killing of civilians, including women and children, in a shooting rampage in Afghanistan, a senior U.S. official said on Friday.
Responsible for one of the worst evils of American Afghan war, 38-year-old bales were formally charged today, the official said on condition of anonymity, adding that the charges adopted the U.S. soldier is quite aware of his actions and that slayings were premeditated.
Among the charges against the soldiers, currently lodged in a highly secure prison, the 17 number of murders, six attempted murder as six and as aggravated assault as well as neglect of duty and other violations of military law.
